Networking. CFA Society of Washington, D.C. offers its members the opportunity for
education, recognition and an industry network. Society programs are designed to enlighten
members about issues of importance in the profession, and to provide a forum for the
interchange of ideas.
Luncheons and Seminars. The Society sponsors educational meetings covering
professional topics, corporate presentations, seminars and field trips. Speakers include
prominent economists, CEO's, investment strategists, leading analysts and fund managers.
Meetings are generally held twice monthly from September through April.
Professional Placement. The Society offers a professional placement referral service
for members by serving as a confidential clearinghouse, matching resumes of members with
opportunities offered by prospective employers and executive search firms. Society also posts
job openings in the "Members Only" section of this website. In addition, the Society sponsors a
Career Forum each Fall for investment professionals and students at local colleges and
universities.
CFA Review Classes. The Society sponsors study groups, which meet weekly, for CFA
candidates. The study groups are lead by experienced professionals and offered at a reasonable
cost in a convenient location.
CFA Scholarships. The Society, in conjunction with the CFA Institute, offers up to five
scholarships for the CFA program to Society members. The scholarship defrays exam expenses.
Other events offer the opportunity for fellowship among members. These include a fall kick-off,
a holiday gathering and an annual meeting. Society events and news are posted on the Society
web site.
