In order to successfully accomplish our mission and vision, we are seeking volunteers to develop the future leaders of our Society. CFAW is only as strong as its membership, and we need members to volunteer in support of CFAW to ensure the continuation of relevant, meaningful activities.
CFAW Volunteer Opportunities
Below is a list of specific volunteer opportunities with CFAW.
Panelists for University Outreach Panel Discussions - Share your experiences and career paths as well as, discuss the benefit of having a CFA Charter. Time commitment would be approximately 90 minutes in the late afternoon or evening. This opportunity is open to all Charterholders. If interested, please provide your contact information and a brief description of your industry segment to Peter Chepucavage.
Golf Committee - We are seeking 1-3 individuals willing to chair and/or help a Golf Committee organize golf lessons and a golf tournament this year.
Training Programs: CFAW offers several skills training events annually. There are opportunities to help organize and coordinate these.
Dine-Arounds: Help organize informal networking dinners with members.
Career Development Activities: CFAW continues to increase their career development-oriented activities.
There are also standing volunteer opportunities available on many of our committees:
Finance Committee - The Finance Committee is a standing committee that makes recommendations to the Board and CFAW committees on issues related to budget, etc. These might include recommending changes to the budget, overseeing asset allocation of Society reserve funds, and working with committees on any special financial analysis needs. If you are interested, you can be added to the Google Group for this committee. We are seeking 2-4 additional volunteers.
Communications Committee - This committee is active in ensuring members of CFAW receive pertinent information. Activities inlcude writing and publishing the monthly newsletter, updating content on the web, organizing information related to 3rd-party events that may be of interest to members, etc. If you are interested in helping, you can be added to the Google Group for this committee.
Community Outreach Committee - CFAW is looking for ways to broaden our outreach in the community. If you are interested in chairing these initiatives or helping out, please let us know. We are seeking 3-5 volunteers.
Programming Education Committee: One of the most active committees, this committee coordinates and organizes programming and networking events.
